Hi,

We're The Good Doctors

We're best friends, giant nerds, and teachers at our core.

One of our guiding principles is - borrowing the immortal words of Captain James T. Kirk - "We learn by doing."

Empathy is an intellectual posture, not an emotional response, and we can learn empathy by doing it. Empathy and inclusivity are the driving forces of our teaching models, and provide the framework for all our workshop facilitations.

We frame all our programs through the principles of non-judgement and curiosity. There are no stupid or wrong questions.

With over 30 years experience in academic and business spaces, we bring our intellectual curiosity and business acumen to every interaction.

Dr. Kristen & Dr. Erin

why you should join us

We believe that one of the most damaging phrases in the English language is "I know how you feel." Our perspective on empathy is different because we believe we have to separate emotions from the practice of empathy.

We know this makes us different, but we feel this perspective is necessary to be able to truly understand someone else's worldview.

Our two-day workshop will outline our philosophy and give you practical tips for how to implement it in your relationships.

What you’ll Learn from us

Our mental framework for empathy.

We know we think and talk about empathy differently than other folks. We'll make sure to dedicate time to breaking down our approach, why we know it's necessary, and leave time for all your questions. Empathy is the foundation for all our teaching.

What it means to be authentically inclusive.

Real inclusivity takes work. We can do all the tick-box exercises in the world and never achieve authentic inclusivity. We've got a couple ideas on where to start and how to build your practice of meaningful inclusivity. We can't wait to share our top tips!

How to understand trauma.

We're all living through the firmly communal and fundamentally personal trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic. We have a lot of experience studying and teaching about trauma. We know our model can help us all work through these difficult times.

Why we blame the Puritans.

We're all exhausted - it's baked in to American culture. We even reward people for it. We're here to tell you that the 'hustle' is actually harming you. The healthiest thing you can do is build rest into your life and set some firm boundaries.

what folks are saying about us

Tricia Brouk
- Speaking Coach

Kristen Donnelly is an exceptionally dynamic and thoughtful speaker. She commands the space while also maintaining an intimate connection with her audience. Her years of study and humble curiosity create the perfect container to talk about hard things. Her TEDx talk on tolerance is one of my favorite talks of all time. I highly recommend Dr. Donnelly as a speaker, educator and facilitator.

Julie Golden
- Square 2 Marketing

I recently had the pleasure of engaging Kristen and Erin for a workshop on emotional intelligence at our company's annual team event. Kristen and Erin have a wonderful rapport with each other and the audience. The 90 minutes flew by, filled with interesting, entertaining and educational takeaways.

Mari Carmen Pizzaro
- Whole Leadership Systems

The reason I decided to partner with Abbey Research and specifically with Dr. Kristen and Dr. Erin on the topics of inclusivity and being a better human is because, well, they've done the research, right? They have the education. So that's super important to me, but they bring a different element to every room that they walked into. They present these topics from a different perspective.
