23 Sep Happy Birthday Blog – Mary Church Terrell
Born in Memphis on this day in 1863, Mary Church Terrell went on to become a leading suffragist, abolitionist, and civil rights activist who co-founded the NAACP. If you don’t know her (and I didn’t until a few weeks ago) you should. PBS’s American Masters series ‘Unladylike2020’ profiled Terrell, and it’s well worth the watch.
We honor her life and her legacy today and all day’s! Happy birthday, Mary!
